UNWANTED DANES TO BE EXPELLED FROM ARMENIA

03.04.2003
The governments of Denmark and Armenia are set to sign April 30 a document that is supposed to regulate the problems with regard to the return of two countries’ citizens to their home countries in case of their illegal residence in each of them. Though under the term “illegal immigrants’ are meant Armenians, residing in Denmark, the agreement refers also to Danes, who might happen to live in this country illegally.
According to officials, there are about 100 Armenian citizens living in Denmark illegally, who are subject to forced return. The document in question will provide a legal basis for Danish authorities to expel uninvited Armenians back to their homeland.
Armenia is currently involved in intensive talks with different countries of Benelux, Czech Republic, Poland, Ukraine and others with the aim of signing similar agreements. Negotiations with Switzerland are over and soon a relevant agreement will be sealed.
