The complaints about March 1 cases will be sent to the European Court

As Artak Zeynalyan, the official representative of 9 of the 10 victims of the March 1 case informed, complaints about victims of the March 1 will be submitted to the European Court on Human Rights.

"We applied with the case of the March 1 victims to the Court of general jurisdiction, and before it we have applied to the prosecutor's office to stop the inactivity of the criminal investigation department. The court of the first instance considered the refusal justified.

Then we litigated the decision of the first court in the Court of Appeal, which re-stated the decisions of the first instance court.  When we appealed to the Court of Cassation, it, as in the most of cases, declined the appeal.

"We divided the cases of the 9 victims into 4 groups according to the reasons of their deaths, and submitted the complaints of 4 groups. We consider applying to the European Court with these 4 complaints during the upcoming 1-2 months", said Artak Zeynalyan.

He also added that the complaints about political prisoners have been already sent to the European Court, and some cases are on the second stage of investigation, which requires interpretation of documents and statements.
